Draw prizes by eligibility group
Not every event wants every prize open to everyone. Some companies reserve high-value prizes for longer-tenured staff; others want win rates split by sales performance or by branch. This feature lets you do exactly that, in just 4 steps: turn it on, create a group list, import your participants with a group each, then pick which group can win which prize.
Flip the switch in Settings
Open your event’s Settings, find the “Draw prizes by eligibility group” block, and flip the switch on. It’s off by default — every prize draws from one shared pool as usual.
- 1The on/off switch — tap here to enable the feature for the currently selected event.
- 23 suggested examples — by tenure, by sales result, by branch. Read these first if you’re not sure this feature fits your event.
Create your group list
Open Participant Groups in the sidebar (under “Winner Groups”). This is where you define every valid group name for the event — importing a list or picking a group for a prize can only ever use names created here, so a typo can’t spawn a duplicate group.
- 1Group name field — one row per name, freely editable before saving.
- 2+ Add group — appends a new blank row to create another group.
- 3Save list — only enabled while there are unsaved changes; a duplicate name is flagged before saving.
What happens if you delete a group? Participants in that group aren’t removed from the event — only unassigned (back to "no group"). If that group was picked for a prize in step 4, that prize’s configuration automatically drops it too.
Open Participant Groups nowImport your list with a Group column
Open Participants → Download sample, fill in the GROUP column with names created in step 2, then Upload file.
- 1Download sample / Upload file — the template already has a GROUP column.
- 2All groups
- 3Group
What if a name doesn’t match? GROUP must match a name created in step 2 exactly. If it doesn’t, that person is still added normally, just without a Group.
Open Participants nowPick which group can win which prize
Open Draw Settings in the sidebar (under “Winner Groups”). Each prize shows a dropdown listing every group created in step 2 — check a group and only people in it can be drawn for that prize.
- 1Prize name — every prize in the event gets its own configuration card.
- 2Group dropdown — check one or more groups. Leaving none checked means this prize is open to everyone, not that nobody can win it.
Don’t forget to save: Picking a group for a prize shows a summary badge right under its name and "Unsaved changes" at the top right — tap "Save configuration" before leaving the page, or the selection is lost.

A few things worth knowing before enabling this for a real event, so nothing surprises you mid-show.
Do I have to create the group list on "Participant Groups" before importing?+
Not in a strict order, but it’s best practice. Import only keeps a GROUP cell that exactly matches a name already on that list — an unknown value is dropped (the person is still added, just without a Group).
What happens if a participant has no Group?+
They can still win any prize that has no group selected (open to everyone). But for a prize restricted to specific group(s), a participant with no Group (or a non-matching one) won’t be included in that prize’s draw pool.
If I delete a group on "Participant Groups", what happens to people in it?+
They aren’t removed from the event — only unassigned (back to "no group"). If that group was picked for any prize on "Draw Settings", that prize’s configuration automatically drops the deleted group too.
Can I edit one participant’s Group directly?+
Yes — tap Edit on that person and pick a Group from the dropdown right in the modal.
Is group matching case- or whitespace-sensitive?+
Yes — the system matches exact strings on import. “Over 5 years” and “over 5 years ” (trailing space) are different values — if a row’s value doesn’t match a created name exactly, that row still imports fine, just without a Group.
If I turn the feature off and back on, is my group list and per-prize setup lost?+
No. Turning the switch off only pauses the restriction (everyone draws from one shared pool as usual) — the group list and each prize’s configuration stay saved, ready the moment you turn it back on.
If a prize has no group selected, who can win it?+
Everyone — including participants with a Group and those without one. "No group selected" means unrestricted, not that nobody can win.
