In October 2026, MB Bank held BeeFest 32, an evening festival for thousands of its employees under the theme BEE BOLD. BEE MORE. The lucky draw was one of the highlights of the night, with two prize tiers: BEE MORE prizes (motorbikes) and the BEE BOLD grand prize, a car. Luck4You ran the draw software.
The challenge
When the grand prize is a car, every round has the whole audience watching. For the organisers, the pressure was not about effects but about everything going exactly to script in front of thousands of people:
- Clear for the audience: each winner's employee ID, name and unit had to be large and readable on the LED screens.
- Stage rhythm: a round could only start when the MC and leadership were ready, not when an operator below the stage clicked.
- No operator mistakes: the display screen could not have buttons, and two draw screens must never run for the same prize.
- Absent winners: a winner who was not present had to be cancelled and replaced on the spot, while still giving out every prize, followed by a final list for prize handover.
The solution
A draw screen separate from the control page
The LED screen did one thing: display. Every command (start, stop, confirm) came from a control page on a separate computer, connected to a button on stage. The system warns when more than one draw screen is open for the same event, preventing duplicate draws.
A custom BeeFest 32 design
The MB logo, the BEE BOLD. BEE MORE message and the bee mascots were built into the draw screen. Each prize tier had its own artwork: a motorbike for BEE MORE, a car for BEE BOLD. The screen always showed which round was running and how many people were being drawn.
Cancelling absent winners and supplementary rounds
Absent winners were cancelled directly from the control page. Luck4You calculated the number of missing places and opened a supplementary round, so each prize was awarded in full. The final list was exported for reconciliation.
How the night ran
- Data preparation: the employee list was imported by employee ID, and the BEE MORE and BEE BOLD prize structure was configured in advance in the admin.
- BEE MORE rounds: each round announced several winners at once, each with a congratulation card showing ID, name and unit.
- The BEE BOLD moment: a member of the leadership pressed the button on stage, and the whole audience watched the LED screen until the car winner's ID appeared.
- After the show: results were already saved in the system, and the organisers exported the list for prize handover and reconciliation.
Outcomes
- Experience: the draw screen shared BeeFest 32's visual language, and felt like part of the show rather than software dropped into the programme.
- Operation: a stage button up front and a control page backstage meant the MC kept the rhythm while the operator kept control of each round.
- Management: supplementary rounds covered absent winners, and the full results were saved and exported right after the event.
