Sound for a professional lucky draw
Pick background music for the whole event or for each prize, tune the draw and celebration sounds, then control the music on the big screen right from your phone. Settings are saved with the event, so every device that opens it plays the same way.
Open the sound settings
Two places open the same settings: the Sound button on the draw screen toolbar, or Sound in the event admin.
- 1Sound opens the event's sound settings. Only shown to accounts that can edit the event.
The Sound window
- 1Now-playing bar: track name, where it comes from, Play/Pause and Previous/Next.
- 2Speaker icon mutes only the device you are on. The projector and other devices keep playing.
- 3Music / Sound effects: two groups of settings, one shown at a time.
- 4How music plays: pick one of three modes, each with a one-line explanation.
- 5Music for each prize appears with "A track for each prize". Picking a track previews it.
Saved automatically. Every change is saved to the event right away, there is no Save button. An open draw screen picks it up instantly when remote control is on, otherwise on its next reload.
The Sound page in the admin
- 1Sound in the event menu.
- 2Music on the draw screen: play, pause and switch tracks on the big screen. Requires remote control.
- 3Settings identical to the Sound window on the draw screen, edit from either place.
Choose how background music plays
Three modes, each suited to a kind of event. Switch any time.
No music
Only draw and celebration sounds. Good when the event has its own DJ or band.
One playlist for the whole event
Music runs all the way through and switching prize does not interrupt the track. Good for year-end parties and customer conferences.
A track for each prize
Switching prize switches the track: upbeat for small prizes, dramatic for the big ones. A prize set to "No music" stays silent.
Build the playlist
- 1Playlist: press ▶ to preview, ✕ to remove a track.
- 2Track picker opens from "Add tracks". Preview a track, then press Add.
- 3YouTube link: paste a video link, the title is fetched from YouTube.
When a track ends
- Play next: go in order and loop back to the first track.
- Shuffle: play another track, never the one that just played.
- Repeat it: keep playing one track until you change it.
Lower music while drawing. On by default. When the draw starts, music drops to about 30% so the draw and celebration sounds come through, and comes back a few seconds after the celebration.
About YouTube. YouTube tracks need a stable connection, may show ads and cannot be previewed in the settings window. For important events use library music.
Pick the sound effects
Each moment of a draw has its own sound that you can turn on, off or change. Picking a sound previews it.
- 1While drawing: Slot machine, Soft roll (good with background music) or Ticking.
- 2When the result appears: Build-up and burst (about 8 seconds), Victory fanfare or Short ta-da. The sound always ends right as the numbers stop.
- 3Congratulations screen: Cheering crowd, Applause or "You win".
- 4Button sounds: when pressing buttons, confirming or skipping a result.
- 5Effects volume is separate from the music volume.
Turning effects off never blocks a draw. Muting the device or turning off a sound group does not freeze the draw, the result still appears on time.
Professional sound playbooks
Four common setups. Pick the one closest to your event and fine-tune from there.
Year-end party
One playlist of 3–5 upbeat tracks, shuffle when a track ends. Lower music while drawing. Use Victory fanfare for results.
The mood never drops and nobody has to babysit the music.
Multi-tier award ceremony
A track for each prize: cheerful for consolation prizes, climactic for the first and special prizes. Use Build-up and burst for results and Applause for the congratulations screen.
The bigger the prize, the bigger the drama, and the audience feels the show building.
With an MC, DJ or band
No background music. Keep the draw and celebration sounds, turn off button sounds.
System sounds only accent the moment and never talk over the MC.
Livestream or online draw
Library music only, no YouTube. Music around 40–50%, effects around 70%.
Clear audio on the stream, with no YouTube ads or copyright flags.
Pre-show checklist
- Open the draw screen on the projector and click the page once: browsers only allow sound after the first click.
- Press Play on the now-playing bar and set the hall speakers by the loudest track.
- Run a test draw on a minor prize to hear the draw and celebration sounds.
- Check that the speaker icon on the projector is not muted.
- Using YouTube tracks? Test the venue's network first.
- Changing music from your phone? Turn on remote control in the event settings.
Control the music remotely
From the tech desk or with a phone next to the stage you can still play, pause and switch tracks on the big screen. Requires remote control in the event settings.
- 1Music on the draw screen: the track playing on the big screen, Play/Pause and Previous/Next.
- 2Play another track: any track from the library or the event's YouTube tracks.
- 3Volume temporarily adjusts the music on the big screen without changing the saved settings.
Seeing "the browser is blocking sound"? Nobody has clicked the draw screen yet, so its browser does not allow sound. Click anywhere on the draw screen once and the music starts by itself, no need to press Play again.
Steps
- 1Turn on Remote control in the event settings.
- 2Open the draw screen on the projector and click the page once.
- 3On a phone or another laptop, open Control in the event admin.
- 4Press Play in the Background music block, the big screen starts playing.
- 5Switch prizes from the Control page: with a track for each prize, the music follows.
FAQ
Common situations when running sound at an event.
The draw runs but there is no sound?+
Check in order: whether the speaker icon on the now-playing bar is muted, whether the sound group is on, whether the effects volume is at 0%, then the computer's speakers and volume. Browsers also only play sound after the page has been clicked at least once.
Why doesn't music start when the page opens?+
Browsers block sound until someone interacts with the page, and operators should choose when the music starts anyway. Press Play on the now-playing bar or from the Control page.
If I change settings on my laptop, does the projector follow?+
Yes. Settings are saved with the event. An open draw screen picks them up instantly when remote control is on, otherwise after a reload. Only the speaker mute icon applies to the device you press it on.
With a track for each prize, what about prizes without music?+
A prize set to "No music" stays silent. For music under every prize, choose "One playlist for the whole event".
Can we use our company's own song?+
Yes, if it is on YouTube: paste the link into the track picker. Uploading your own music files is not supported yet.
YouTube tracks show ads, how do I avoid that?+
Ads are decided by YouTube and Luck4You cannot turn them off. Use library music for important events.
Is the volume set on the Control page saved?+
No. It is a temporary adjustment for the open draw screen. The event's saved volume is set in the Sound window.
Can the Luck4You Event app control music yet?+
Not yet. Remote music control uses the Control page in a browser, which also works on a phone.
